Frequently asked questions
The contribution model, answered plainly.
These docs explain the product in plain language. Binding contributor, privacy, payment and other legal terms control if there is a conflict.
Do I own a route if I scan it first?
No. You receive credit for the scan and may retain rights in your original files, but the physical climb and its shared factual record are not assigned to the first uploader.
Can someone replace my 3D model?
A materially better model may become the default. Your accepted contribution remains in the provenance history and keeps its appropriate founding credit.
Does accreditation mean I get paid?
No. Accreditation describes trust and publishing capability. Payout eligibility and the measured value of a contribution are separate decisions.
Will every contribution earn money?
No. Betabace may offer direct creator sales, bounties, contribution pools or product credits, but attribution alone is not a guarantee of income.
Can I upload a scan made by someone else?
Only if you have the rights and permissions required by the upload terms and credit the source correctly. Public availability elsewhere does not automatically grant permission to reuse it.
What if a crag should not be public?
Do not publish precise location information. Flag the place as access-sensitive so local stewards can determine whether it should be hidden, generalised or excluded.
